Project DescriptionIn 2005, Communications Technology Broadcasting (Pty) Ltd was appointed by an international broadcaster to undertake the replacement of a directional two tower MW antenna system in Sao Tome. The existing towers had deteriorated to a critical level due to severe corrosion, rendering them unsafe for climbing - even for routine maintenance such as aviation light replacement.CTB was contracted to mobilise to the island of São Tomé and execute the controlled demolition of the two 100 metre towers, followed by the design and installation of two new 100 metre towers. The replacement structures were engineering to significantly exceed the structural integrity and dimensional performance of the original installations, ensuring enhanced durability, safety and long term operational reliability. |
